Nigeria- Street Children (NGO Commission)

In several region of the Niger Delta, children are still stigmatized as being witches and then abandoned by their families. The images selected describe a day in a life of some of these children who are living and surviving in the streetsof Calabar ( Cross River region, Nigeria).

With the help of a local lawyer involved with the NGO in monitoring and helping Calabar street children we asked a group of children if we could record their day to day life.

Some agreed and the journey began at 5 am when they wake up to collect scrap metal found in the street that will be sold to buy food for their survival.

Other images are portraits of children street sellers and children that had been abused.
